Welcome!15-16 May, Russia, Perm.The Guild of SPA Experts (Moscow) participated in the educational seminar for the hoteliers. "Event make" (Nijni Novgorod) together with the AMAKS HOTEL UNIVERSITY prepared a two-days program for the General Managers and Hospitality Professionals in a unique resort of Perm Region – “Ust-Kachka”. This event can boast a vast geographical coverage, as it has brought together the professionals from the best recreation regions of Russia: Perm, Vladimir, Essentuki, Pyatigorsk, Chaikovsky, Belgorod, Nijni Novgorod, Demodkovo, etc. The issue of the first day was “Planning and Implementation of SPA in a Hotel”. Marina Kuchurkina, Director of the National Guild of SPA Experts, conducted the seminar. First of all, the latest trends in the SPA industry in Russia and abroad were discussed. Then, the participants were presented the schemes of proper planning and budgeting in SPA, received recommendations on creation of SPA-programs and compellation of SPA-menu. The seminar was accompanied by the demonstration of the promo-videos of the most successful national and foreign SPAs. The second day was devoted to the discussion of beauty salons’ operation from the point of view of SPA philosophy. Dr.Lubov Zavrajnih, vice-president of the quality control of the services in AMAKS Grand Hotels, and Anna Veselova, director of SPA-projects in AMAKS Grand Hotels, covered such topics as legislative basis, marketing programs, and recruitment. Marina Kuchurkina comments: “Recreational complex “Ust-Kachka” reminded me of Rogashka Slatina in Slovenian. The readers of the SPA Report and members of the Guild are acquainted with that resort very well. That huge complex in Slovenian is financed by 20 investors, Ust-Kachka has only one owner, which creates certain obstacles in the further development of the resort and services provided. I would like to thank Event Make for a wonderful organization and extend special ‘thank you’ to Klara Ermakova, Executive Director. 17 May I visited the winner in Russian Spa Professional Award'07 (“Best beauty salon with spa elements) – “Beauty&SPA”. They plan to expand SPA in autumn 2008. Svetlana Gorbunova, Manager, definitely can be nominated as “The Best Debut” in the Awards’08. The progress and results of her wotk are wonderful. If you are a permanent reader of our news, you should be aware that that was my third business trip and the sixth event in the last month. Only this year I see the positive growth of the SPA industry and real impact of SPA Philosophy on the quality of services: welcoming of the guests, food, communication, design and personnel. All these factors are of utmost importance for me. No doubt, Russia has natural competitive advantage – variety of climate zones, beauty of nature, however, it is not enough for spa. Anyways, I admit that the seminar in Perm has turned to be the best in the recently.
